  Reading information

In Year Six, we encourage independent readers and the expectation is that pupils read every day. It is your child's responsibility to choose either a book from home or the classroom to have in school. We recommend that they choose a variety of genre. They are required to record the details in a class reading folder which is periodically checked to ensure that their choices are both suitable and challenging. We will be assessing all of the children over the next few weeks to ensure that they are reading at a suitable level.

Year 6 Visit to RAF Hendon
On Wednesday Year Six dressed as evacuees and visited RAF Hendon where they travelled back in time to November 1940, when the Blitz was at its peak. They met a strict and knowledgeable Air Raid Warden, braved an air raid and dressed in authentic World War Two RAF uniforms. It was a fantastic trip and all the children came away with an enhanced understanding of Britain's role during this significant period of our history.
